Continuing with chapter 2, I love the way this stage looks in the day time. In the original game, it takes place during the night, which if you think about it, makes more sense. Wouldn't you choose to raid a village during the night, instead of in broad daylight while everyone is around to resist? But hey, this looks better.

I was really hoping I'd have 20,000 essence by the second Muramasa shop to upgrade the Falcon Talons, but I was just a bit short. The checkpoint afterward can be difficult to get a clean run through when you have a limited moveset, but I didn't want to switch back to the Dragon Sword just yet. Things got a little sloppy just before the save statue, but I was ready to move on. You get the bow right after that, and in Sigma 2, they changed the controls so you'll always have a long range weapon (with infinite ammo) equipped to the right trigger, in addition to the shurikens you normally have equipped on the B button. That's one of my favorite changes, because the bow can be an effective tool for air combos and it opens up some new combat possibilities.

Genshin is one of, if not my absolute favorite boss in any game I've ever played, and he's a perfect rival for Ryu to chase throughout the game. This is the first, but far from the best fight with him. They did make some changes to the fight for Sigma, adding a Void ninpo attack, and making it possible to launch him into the air and hit him with an Izuna Drop. The Izuna is neat, but it also made it possible to break the fight by looping him over and over. I just wanted to fight him normally and finish him off with the drop.
