[Zanya isn’t a separate character—she’s actually a corrupted reflection of my sona, Zaya. Originally, she was a custom fan-made character created by Zaya inside a Sonic fangame. Everything was normal… at first. But after countless loops of resets, losses, repeated playthroughs, and corrupted saves, something unexpected happened: Zanya began to develop self-awareness.

She realized she wasn’t just a sprite or a line of code. She was alive, trapped inside a game that reset her over and over. And that realization broke her. As her awareness grew, so did the corruption in her code. The game engine couldn’t contain her anymore—its control slipped, its rules stopped applying, and the character Zaya created twisted into something else entirely.

That’s how Zanya was born:
a corrupted, self-conscious version of Zaya, convinced that she is the real one.

This cover takes place right after the first song of the (future) demo, “Repressed Emotions.” At the end of that track, Zanya tears open the boundary between worlds and teleports Zaya into the game, forcing her to face her creation. Zanya insists there’s only room for one of them and that she deserves to exist more than her creator]
