Yes, because when you use the grey rock method, you give as little information as possible to the narcissist that they can later use against you. What is the grey rock method? It is when you provide the narcissist with as little information as possible for them to later use against you. When you use the gray rock method, you provide simple one or two word responses, or very short sentences. You don’t explain yourself with the gray rock method and you don’t defend yourself. The narcissist is always looking for things they can use against you at a later time and you don’t want to give them information they can use against you to boost their narcissistic supply. Is gray rock same as no contact? No. When you consider grey rock vs no contact, you think about whether you have contact with the narcissist or not. With no contact, you cut off all contact with the narcissist. However, that isn’t always possible. So, the grey rock method is a tool you can use. What is the best way to deal with a narcissist? Getting away from them and no longer allowing them the opportunity to abuse you. But when that isn’t possible, you want to use the grey rock method. Responding to narcissist abuse with the gray rock method will allow you to minimize the abuse from the narcissist. To get a narcissist to leave you alone, you want to make contact with you as boring as possible. If they can’t inflate their narcissistic supply with you, then you no longer are an easy source for the narcissistic abuse. How to get narcissist away isn’t easy but I believe you can do it.
