Summer Road Trip To Prince Edward Island | Anne of Green Gables

At the end of August Matthew and I escaped responsibilities for a week to explore Prince Edward Island. We drove twelve hours north and over the border to Canada to stay in a little cottage by the sea. This video is a little different than my usual as I share our entire trip. It's a long one and you can skip to the middle if you are looking for the Anne of Green Gables content.

Believe it or not, this trip was not planned because of my love for the beloved classic book series. I have water to visit the island long before I ever read the Anne of Green Gables series by L. M. Montgomery. I first read her famous book when I was thirty years old and have been in love with it ever since. In spirit, I feel like Anne, but with my dark hair I definitely look more like a Diana. We visited all of the Green Gables sites including L. M. Montgomery's birthplace museum, the heritage center and the Anne of Green Gables museum among other destinations.

After an incredibly busy year for both of us, we found so much peace and joy on PEI. We have never spent this much time on the beach before. Free beach access was absolutely everywhere and the there are 63 lighthouses on the island! We hope to return again, perhaps even this coming summer. At the end of the video I share a compilation of our travels with some audio from the 1980s Anne of Green Gables.
