Diamond Nails Nail Art Trend 2017 using CND Shellac

The colour and pattern of the foil makes a big difference to the final result, this silver holographic triangle pattern works best. Cut the foil into strips length ways, and then take each strip and start to cut out small triangles, keep them on a flat surface for easy pick up later on.

I’ve started with a shellac manicure that already has 1 coat of silver chrome and has been cured, I’m now applying a thin layer of clearly pink , do not cure this layer

Using a crystal katana , I’m picking up the foil triangles we cut out earlier and I’m placing them into the uncured layer of clearly pink, as I place new piece I’m making sure that I’m butting them up the previous piece of foil so that there is no gap between them and that the entire base of foil is pressed into the uncured layer of clearly pink, as the gaps become smaller some of the foil might overlap onto the skin or a previous piece of foil, this is totally ok and will not affect your final result and will actually make things a little easier for you later on.

Try to reverse the direction of the triangle pattern on the foil by placing pieces at random angles, the more directions the pattern goes in the more reflective the final result will be
Continue this application all over the nail and when finished cured in your chosen cnd lamp

When your nail has been cured the foil is now securely in place, it’s important that we now removed the protective plastic coating that covers the foil, where the foil pieces have overlapped onto the skin are the easiest to remove so start here, as you can see the clear plastic coating comes off leaving the foil untouched and perfectly shaped to the nail. Continue to remove the plastic film from all pieces of foil placed on the nail, rotate the nail from side to side, you should be able to see which piece still have their coating on as they are a little duller than the foil that has had the plastic film removed.

Finish this nail by applying a thin coat of a topcoat and cure in your chosen lamp

And here is the finished nail, you can see why its been dubbed a diamond nail as the foil give a multi-faceted look that sparkles just like I diamond,
