Yamaha DGX-670 Audio Review & Test. Hear it for the first time. No talking.

Testing the piano quality of the Yamaha DGX-670 using two songs, one very dynamic and another song very soft and ambient. The first song "Blue Blue Whoo Jazz" is loud and hard and soft passages too. The only time you can actually hear the piano's delicate textures is when the piano is played very slow and soft allowing the notes to ring out. The second song is just that, very soft and slow.

I have been playing keyboards, pianos, organs for 57 years, this piano is the first digital piano I really like...LOVE..is more like it. For the past 35 years I have bought dozens of digital pianos, each time hoping it will be the one that makes me think I am playing an acoustic. Well it finally happened with this Yamaha, a fantastically even voiced and tuned piano with plenty of parameters for adjusting the sound to precisely what you think a piano should sound like. It took 35 years, but it is finally here and at a price that will blow your socks off. The stand and 3pedal system is a must buy making this an $1100.00 dollar instrument, the best deal in the history of digital pianos.

If you looking for your first, this is it, don't bother looking at anything else, if a old pro likes this piano think how much a beginner is going to enjoy it. This is the piano for the masses. This is the piano that will place and actual instrument in the hands of those who could have one before. I say instrument because all other digital pianos are just electronic devices.

I don't impress easily particularly with digital pianos, so many of them and all of them have the same problem. Short decay rates of the notes, and a soft pedal that just turns the volume down, and no resonance of the strings ringing out beside the string you hammered. Well...this Yamaha DGX-670 doesn't have any of those problems, it is a winner.

CAUTION: There are many DGX Yamaha pianos from the past...ONLY...and I mean ONLY the 670 model is worth buying, don't buy a used older model number, it will not even be close to the 670. Night and day difference, Yamaha really stepped up the digital piano game with this 670. A beautiful sounding and acceptable playing piano. I say acceptable key action because the pro classical player will not like the key action of the 670, the pro will need to spend more money and get the real action of an acoustic in a digital.
