Flowers? Congratulations? Now the truth. March 8th isn't about tenderness. It's about blood, struggle and fear.

Women were forbidden to study, to vote, to control their bodies and their money. They were not considered human beings. They didn't even have the right to be themselves. They were herded into "children, kitchen, church" and any disobedience was punished as a crime.

But they rebelled.
1857. New York. Factories. 16-hour work day. Famine. Women who demanded respect were beaten, fired, and some burned in the fires of closed factories.
1911. Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire. 146 women died in the trap the company had set for them.
1917. Russia. Women take to the streets demanding "Bread and Peace! - and start a revolution.

March 8 is not a cute holiday. It's the day women broke the system and changed the world forever.
