The Russian Language as a Foreign Course which was launched on 28 August
2024, is being offered free of charge to all Namibians at IUM. Currently, the 2nd
Cohort has already attracted over 460 applicants, who have been placed into
Beginner, Elementary and Advanced levels to ensure inclusivity and
accessibility for learners at different stages.
The initiative to teach the Russian Language to all Namibiansis a deep reflection
of IUM’s commitment to forging global partnerships and creating learning
opportunities for the Namibian population. Through this programme, IUM
seeks to:
Provide a solid foundation in the Russian language, which is key to
understanding Russian culture and promoting cross-cultural dialogue.
Namibia and Russia share a historic friendship that dates back to the
pre-independence era.
Offer the Russian language as part of pre-university preparation and
training.
