On this week's Taste of Retirement, we're teaching you how to make smash burgers at home, better yet, how to make smash burgers on cast iron skillet for the ultimate flavor! If you're looking for easy recipes to make at home, this smashburger is it!
Many of you have probably made burgers at home, but have you ever made cast iron smash burgers before? First, you'll need a cast iron skillet and if you don't have one, we highly recommend it as cast iron skillet recipes are always incredible! We'll start this recipe by making our secret sauce, because no burger is really complete without some form of a burger sauce on it.
Burger sauce recipe:
Chipotle mayo
Ketchup
Mustard or Habanero Mustard
Chopped Baby Dill Pickle Sphere
Whether or not you are a fan of the heat, you might sub out the spicy ingredients for a regular mayo and mustard, but you'll take about 1-2 tbsp of each along with a chopped baby dill sphere and mix them together well. Next it's time to focus on the smash burgers on cast iron skillet.
Smashburger recipe:
8oz 80/20 Ground Chuck
Brioche Buns
Spanish Onion Rings
Salt & Pepper
Butter
Secret Sauce
Once you've got your meat all seasoned and balled up, it's ready to go into a screaming hot cast iron skillet and then you smash it down to get all that tasty crust and bits on the bottom. From there you let the skillet side go for a little bit before carefully scrapping the patty up and flipping to keep the yummy bits on. Then you just need to cook to taste and you've made your first smashburger at home!
