When Kanye and Jay Z dropped Watch The Throne, some audiences were left scratching their heads at the gaudy "luxury rap" that seemed to be such a far cry from their earlier work. In this video essay, I take a more unconventional approach in the narrative by allowing their words and music to tell the story of what it means to be young, black and rich in America. Some of the language is very harsh, but as a black man and as a creative, it has been a burden that I have carried and a message that I have wanted to tell. It doesn't end with Kanye and Jay's words. The fight lives on outside the music, in everyday culture, worldwide, all colors and creeds.
