A Must-See State Park in the Las Vegas Desert: Valley of Fire S4:E16

An issue with the Mercedes chassis in our Class C RV threatens to derail our RV Road trip across America. But after a short stop at Mercedes of St. George in Utah, we are back on the road west into Nevada. Our journey takes us to Valley of Fire State Park, an amazing red-tinted valley just outside of Las Vegas lined with unique rock formations and colorful striped cliffs. Despite many trails being closed for the summer, we find beauty and opportunities for exploration around every corner. Join us as we encounter abundant wildlife including the elusive big horn sheep we have been searching for far and wide. Our base of operations is the Atlatl Campground which is right in the heart of the action at this wonderful state park.

After receiving some very welcome news about the braking system in our Mercedes, we are happy to be back on the road heading through the Mojave Desert. The road takes us to Valley of Fire State Park and an overnight stay at the Atlatl Campground. We make the most of our time taking the Jeep through every nook and cranny of the park, and stopping at numerous sites along the way. Elephant Rock, Fire Canyon, and the Wave are just some of the sights to see in this incredible place. We see petroglyphs, arches, and unique geological formations that we have never seen anywhere else in all our travels.

Zion National Park is the latest stop in our exploration of America in our RV that will take us from coast to coast. Come along with us as we meet challenges, and explore new places on an epic cross-country journey. Will we be able to complete this trip without the problems that plagued our last two?
