It's no secret the economy has been going through a rough patch, but it turns out it's worse than even the experts imagined.
The latest GDP figures - that's Gross Domestic Product - show the economy shrank by 0.9 percent in the June Quarter. The major banks were picking a drop of less than half that, around 0.4 percent. Ten out of 16 industries were down, with mining, manufacturing and construction among the worst hit.
And while the Government is blaming international turmoil and uncertainty over Trump's tariffs, the slump looks even worse when compared to other countries - but could there be a silver lining? Political correspondent Zane Small has more.
