About the song:
So, a long while ago I was thinking it would be a good idea to use some Toejam & Earl instrument for the funky guitar at the end, then I got an idea of what exactly I should do, and then I forgot. I waited to remember, but I never did. So, time passes and now I give it a shot, thinking I should at least try to do the rest and deal with that later. Well, things went swimmingly, I should've realized there's not many instruments in the song and there's quite a lot of repetition, it was so quick to make I made it in record time. You can kinda tell how much time a song takes to make by looking at the number of patterns in the matrix and the instrument count, here both numbers are really low.

So, I got the bass from Aerobiz, just because, and the main instrument from Alisia Dragoon, thinking that game had good instruments and maybe I could find something there. And then I wonder what my genius method was years before, literally just guessing around. The other two instruments are from Toejam & Earl, one for the stereo guitars, the other one for the funky stuff. I'm pretty sure that the thing I forgot before was that I should use one of those guitars, maybe exactly the one I used, and cut it short, just like in this. I must have been testing some of the instruments and had the idea that way, and since I never did the same thing again I coulnd't remember it.

I used Sonic Spinball snares because they're kinda similar to the original, and also because I think it goes well with the theme. This cover reminds of Boogerman a little with the jazzy pipelines theme, and also a bit of Spinball for similar reasons, I like that.

The tempo, as per usual, isn't exactly the same as the original. It's actually difficult to get the right tempo because of the way the system handles it, there's already a fixed speed for things because of the NTSC clock speed, all I can do is make things play earlier or later, and it's hard to align the beat with other songs that way. Sometimes I get lucky and the original goes at 150 or 120 BPM, but when not it can get messy, worst case scenario the song might feel limpy and it's better to just change the tempo. Not the case here, fortunately, but still, it's a little inaccurate.

I find it interesting how the song reminds me of how Metropolis Zone looks, with 3 channels dedicated to harmonies, one for the melody, and one for the bass, and lots of empty space. Usually I try to fill those empty spaces with echo channels or something, because having few instruments usually sounds bare and empty, that's why I find it interesting that the occasional harmonies fill up that empty space so well, I think the stereo must have something to do with it maybe. Other songs in Forces seem to actively avoid having any empty spaces, the Avatar songs especially. It's also really nice when I get to do songs with low a instrument count, to me they feel more genuine, I can more easily see them as a real Genesis song, and that's without mentioning it's less work.
