月曜日 (げつようび) - Monday
月 can be read as げつ or がつ meaning Moon or month, so this is the day of the moon.
Did you now that historically, Japan didn't follow the Western Calendar until 1872 (aprox) so, when they chaged their numerical week days (as the days of the month) they followed the 7 celestial luminaries? . In this new order, after the Sun, the Moon 月comes , and then the 5 visible planets that correspond to Gods (and the 5 elements) for the next days of the week. Interesting, isn't it?
