This video is one of the first I ever started working on. The problem was that every idea I had for a beginning or middle kept turning into its own thing and I kept just spinning those off into their own videos. About half of this video was created in September/October and has just been waiting for my writer's (editor's?) block to abate.

I was inspired by the drawing room lesson scene in Season 3 to put together this edit themed around the ideas of the futures we imagine for ourselves, the stories we tell ourselves, and the stories we let other people tell us about ourselves, for good or for bad.

If there's one thing Colin Bridgerton will always do, it is to dare to dream. 💭

And if there is one thing Penelope Featherington finds herself coming back to time and time again, it's stories of love. 💕

The drawing room section is the idea I had in my mind that made me start this and is how I planned it from the beginning. I wanted to play on the idea that Colin was unknowingly predicting the future in the little play-acting scene. The preceding section starting with his apology in the garden, through the early lessons, was also done in October.

The VERY first section I completed on this is the ending, starting at 18:33. It is my favorite thing I've ever made. 😹 In my mind, this is the part where Pen starts to see the future, through Colin's encouragement, and it all connects through the magical hair touch, which is the moment I always say they were married in their minds. This section has been locked and loaded since September. 🤣

This was to be a 1-2 minute intro at the start of the video, but it ran off and became an 8-minute You Belong with Me music video.

💚    • Chaos Colin counts the ways he loves Pen  
This just evolved naturally as a section as I was making it but ended up not belonging.

🦋    • Everyone knows about Polin but Polin.  
While I managed to rework a lot of what I ended up sacrificing to that other video, I still retained the dealbreakers in this one. That section just belonged to both videos! I still mourn the loss of what I changed to make it different enough honestly, but it gave me the Moms section, which I kinda like.

✍️    • Bridgerton, but just 30 minutes of Pen con...  
This just got a lot of my Polin itches out so I could calm down a little and make this one (eventually).



There are also two or three videos I have started but not completed that are ALSO spinoffs from this one, including one that was born this week. 😹 I probably should never have completed this, as it seems to be my main source of inspiration. 🫠
