In this video, I'll walk you through step-by-step how to work the Alpine Stitch. This stitch is more dense than your regular double crochet stitch, making it great for cold-weather items.

WRITTEN PATTERN:
Row 1: (RS) Work an odd number of fdcs.
Row 2: (WS) Turn your work but do not ch 1. Sc 1 in each st until the end of the row.
Row 3: (RS) Turn your work and work a chainless starting dc in the 1st st of the row. Then, *fpdc 1, dc 1*. Repeat * - * until 1 st remains. Work a regular dc in the last st of the row.
Row 4: (WS) Turn your work but do not ch 1. Sc 1 in each st until the end of the row.
Row 5: (RS) Turn your work and work a chainless starting dc in the 1st st of the row. Then, *dc 1, fpdc 1*. Repeat * - * until 1 st remains. Work a regular dc in the last st of the row.
Repeat rows 2-5 until your work is as long as you'd like.
