When Grace was born, she was diagnosed with a rare genetic condition called Treacher-Collins Syndrome. At just four days old, she was fitted with a tracheostomy to open her windpipe and help her breathe. Grace is non-verbal, unable to eat solid foods and needs constant care to ensure her airway is clear.
For over a year, the family cared for Grace on their own, until they were referred to Alexander Devine Children’s Hospice Service. Grace has grown to become a cheeky and confident personality running around the hospice and we are grateful to share her story today.
