Can I beat Pokémon Crystal using Hardcore Nuzlocke Rules after banning half the Pokémon in the Pokédex?

Normal Nuzlocke Ruleset:
1. Fainting = Death
2. Can only catch the first eligible encounter per Route
3. Nickname Pokémon

Hardcore Nuzlocke Ruleset:
4. No items in battle (held items okay)
5. No leveling past the next gym leader/E4 (at the START of the battle)
6. Play on "Set" battle mode

Eligible Encounters: Noctowl, Smeargle, Hitmontop, Furret, Donphan, Unown, Mantine, Misdreavus, Bellossom, Pichu, Piloswine, Ledian, Cleffa, Igglybuff, Jumpluff, Delibird, Ariados, Dunsparce, Sunflora, Yanma, Aipom, Smoochum, Elekid, Granbull, Sneasel, Stantler, Qwilfish, Magby, Corsola, Magcargo, Murkrow
