King Charles was ceremoniously presented with the keys to the city of Edinburgh, marking the beginning of his official visit to Scotland.
The traditional Ceremony of the Keys took place in the gardens of the Palace of Holyroodhouse, his official residence in Edinburgh.
The event occurred on Tuesday morning, shortly after the King and Queen arrived at the palace by helicopter.
The ceremony is part of Holyrood Week, an annual tradition where the monarch spends a week at Holyroodhouse, known as Royal Week in Scotland.
