Life Is a Highway Disney Pixar CARS | Lydia Oakeson Lyza Bull & Isabel Oakeson (Cover)

Lydia Oakeson, Lyza Bull and Isabel Oakeson, formerly of One Voice Children’s Choir, sing “Life Is a Highway” from the animated feature film CARS, produced by Pixar Animation Studios and released by Walt Disney Pictures. This music video was filmed on location at Utah’s real-life “Cars Land,” AAA Lakeside Storage and Museum. The car featured in this music video is a 1969 Oldsmobile Cutlass.

“Life Is a Highway” was originally written and performed by Tom Cochrane who was inspired to write the song after his experiences in West Africa working for World Vision, a famine relief organization. He has called the song his own personal “pep talk,” and it has become that for him and millions of others around the world. While the song has been covered by many artists, the band Rascal Flatts recorded a kid-friendly version for the 2006 animated film CARS, catapulting it to international fame. The song hit #7 on the BillboardHot 100 and remained on the chart for 40 weeks. The Rascal Flatts version won the Radio Disney Music Award for “Best Song From a Movie,” and People’s Choice Awards for “Favorite Song From a Movie” and “Best Remake.”

Lydia is a singer, actress, dancer and YouTuber with big dreams. She is a current member of Rise Up Children’s Choir, and appeared as a soloist their music video "Spirit" from “The Lion King.” As a former member of One Voice Children’s Choir, she performed as a soloist with the choir in appearances with Alex Boyé, Kevin Olusola of Pentatonix, Jenny Oaks Baker, David Osmond, and for former President and First Lady Obama at the White House. She also performed with the choir on NBC’s America’s Got Talent, toured with the choir to France in 2017, and is a soloist in the choir’s YouTube videos of “Where Are You Christmas” and “J’Imagine.” Recent favorite theatrical roles include Alice in Alice in Wonderland (Kingsbury Hall), Belinda Cratchit in A Christmas Carol (Hale Center Theater Orem), Amaryllis in The Music Man (Hale Center Theater Sandy), Susan in Miracle on 24th Street (Scera), Young Fiona in Shrek! and Pepper in Annie (Utah COPA). Lydia studies dance at Barlow Arts Conservatory and voice with Shalee Schmidt. She is also a competitive individual figure skater (ISI Freestyle 4). Lydia is represented by TMG.

ABOUT LYZA

Lyza Bull just received a 2017 Utah Music Award for Best New Artist Under 18. Lyza has had the opportunity to tour and sing in Japan, France, and at the White House for President Obama and the First Lady. Lyza loves to sing, dance, and act. She is a member of the One Voice Children’s Choir, studies dance at The Dance Club, and loves musical theater.

ABOUT ISABEL

Isabel Oakeson was a member of One Voice Children’s Choir for 7 years, and sang for President Barack Obama at the White House and as a featured performer with artists such as Alex Boyé, David Archuleta, Kevin Olusola of Pentatonix, Kurt Bestor, Jenny Oaks Baker, Vocal Point, and Barry Manilow. She also appeared with the choir on NBC’s “America’s Got Talent.” An avid musical theatre performer, Isabel has appeared with numerous production companies throughout the Salt Lake Valley including The Grand Theatre, Scera, Kingsbury Hall, the University of Utah’s Department of Theatre, Youth Theatre at the U, and Utah COPA.
