Harry Mack Freestyles + Live Jazz (feat. Sam Barsh, Kyle Crane & Maurice Brown)

No rehearsal, no game plan, just a few musicians on stage and small room of maybe 50-60 people eager to hear something dope. I used to do pop up shows with Sam Barsh and Kyle Crane at bars and restaurants around LA back in the day. These guys are both incredible in their own right, and they really know how to bounce off each other and flow endlessly with improvised grooves, so it’s the perfect complement to what I do. Shout out to Maurice Brown who I met on the bandstand this night and who absolutely crushed it as well. Make sure you check these guys out, they’re all doing major things, writing and performing with some of the biggest artists in the world. Also if you’re in LA make sure you check out The Scene which is an awesome recurring event Sam Barsh throws for local musicians spanning all corners of the LA jazz scene, and where this particular set went down.

We were originally going to pull highlights from the night and widdle it down to a 15-20 minute video, but so much of the magic lies in the ebb and flow of spontaneous energy, so we said fuck it let’s post the whole thing. Hope you dig it!!!
