Image Science Associates has developed a new Device-level target that meets, indeed exceeds, the requirements outlined in ISO 19264. We call it the FADGI 19264 target. Briefly, the new features are described below and will be presented in detail in the session.
Overall size: A4
Mounting: Permanently mounted on a rigid 1mm black coated steel plate.
Color and grayscale data: 168 unique color patches (Munsell and NCS) suitable for creating ICC color profiles.
A higher population of near neutrals, parchment, and vellum colors.
18 legacy color patches identical to the ColorChecker Classic.
Serialized targets with individual color reference files at no additional cost.
Option to customize selected color locations (Gold foil, Fluorescent, you name it)
Linear and gradient L* scales from L*=95 to L*=20.
Geometric Distortion: Uniformly spaced dots for measuring ISO full-field geometric distortion. Uniformly spaced dots for measuring ISO full-field color geometric distortion.
White, Gray, and Black vertical and horizontal bars: Used for measuring striping, banding, and frequency components.
Full Field Dimensional scales
Of course, the newer version GoldenThread NXT software will support these features. While still not fully functional (still working out some bugs) we plan to have easier to use FADGI content type categories for testing and have integrated the star level categories into a single view with both RGB and colorimetric reporting. The user will also have the option to save the RGB/L*a*b* data pairs for ingest into Argyll and licensed BasICColor, or ColorBurst-SpectraCore Camera Profiler.
