Roselle Catholic and Gill St. Bernard faced off last night for the opportunity to punch a ticket to the final round of the state championships at Rutgers this weekend.
**SPOILER**
Roselle Catholic booked its ticket to Rutgers tonight in a 43-35 victory , on the heels of a controversial finish in Paterson. Down by 4, Gill scored to cut it to 2, and the ball went through the hoop with about 13.5 seconds on the clock. A Roselle Catholic player doesn’t pick up the ball to inbound it until 9 full seconds later, with about 4.5 left. By the time the ball was inbounded and a foul occurred, there was just over a second left. Coach Sina of Gill St Bernard picked up 2 technical fouls and was thrown out of the game, leaving Roselle Catholic to shoot 6 consecutive free throws with the clock stopped at 1.1 seconds. Roselle Catholic will go on to face St. Rose in the championship game.
