“ఇదిగో రత్నం! కొద్దిగా వేడిగా కాఫీ యిస్తావా.. అలా వాకింగ్ వెళ్తాను తాగేసి” అన్నాడు వెంకట్రావు.

“ఉదయమే తాగేసారు గా, డాక్టర్ కాఫీ ఎక్కువగా తాగొద్దు అన్నాడు గుర్తులేదా” అంది వంటింట్లో నుంచి. 

“గుర్తు వుంది. ఆనాడు మనం డాక్టర్ దగ్గరికి వెళ్ళినప్పుడు నర్స్ ఏమంది..’ డాక్టర్ గారు కాఫీ త్రాగుతున్నారు, కొద్దిసేపు వెయిట్ చెయ్యండి’ అంది. అందుకే కాఫీ మంచిదే. కొద్దిగా యివ్వు” అన్నాడు.

“ఉదయం లేచింది దగ్గర నుంచి కాఫీ యివ్వడం, టిఫిన్ చేసి పెట్టడం, మళ్ళీ కాఫీ, వాకింగ్ నుంచి రాగానే నిమ్మకాయ నీళ్లు, ఆ తరువాత భోజనం, మళ్ళీ కాఫీ, రాత్రికి టిఫిన్.. యిదే నా బ్రతుకు. పెళ్ళైన రోజు నుంచి అడుగుతున్నాను ‘నా పేరున బ్యాంకులో అకౌంట్ తీసి ఒక లక్ష రూపాయలు వెయ్యండి, రేపు ఎటోచ్చి ఎటు పోయినా నన్ను ఆదుకుంటుంది’ అని, ఆధార్ కార్డు లో పేరు తప్ప ఏమీ లేదు నా పేరున” అంది రత్నం వేడి కాఫీ గ్లాస్ అందిస్తూ.
