As the University of South Africa celebrates 150 years of its existence, Higher Education Minister Dr Blade Nzimande, says there's a need to act swiftly in the UNISA crisis, to prevent irreparable damage to the institution's standing and reputation.
Following months of speculation, an independent assessor's report recommended the university be placed under administration. The report raised concern over governance, performance and financial management, upgrades to the vice-chancellor's home, bullying, and the leaking of confidential reports.
