How to teach a horse to stand still

Every one of my rides is structured so that every ride I am teaching my horses to stand still. Teaching a horse to stand still is one of the hardest things to teach but when you structure your rides so that the horse appreciates the opportunity to stand still its much easier for the horse to learn.
