This ram came with every challenge in the book: extra horns, awkward angles, zero interest in sitting right, and a whole lot of shifting just when I found my rhythm. With sheep like this, you take what they give you and work around it, keeping calm and keeping the pattern moving.
Once he hit the ground on his side, he finally relaxed, and the difference was instant. It’s been brutally hot here in Texas, and a proper shear makes an immediate temperature change for these animals. Underneath that wool was a clean pattern and a much more comfortable ram.
The last side was the toughest puzzle of horns and balance, but he kept a good attitude and we got through it. One down, thirty more to go.
