The Terrifying Fate of the Disbelievers vs. Honors of the Abrār | Ustadh Mohamad Baajour

In this enlightening tafsīr session, Ustadh Mohamad Baajour continues the explanation of Sūrat al-Insān, exploring the powerful verses that contrast two types of people:
the ungrateful disbelievers (kuffār) and the exceptionally righteous believers (al-Abrār).

Allah describes, with vivid detail, the destiny of those who reject faith:

🔥 Chains 210 feet long
🔥 Shackles around their necks and hands
🔥 Dragged on their faces into the Fire
🔥 Skin will be replaced repeatedly as punishment
🔥 Hell’s many names: Saʿīr, Jahannam, Laẓā, Saqar, al-Ḥuṭama, al-Hāwiya…

These verses are a warning, a reminder, and a call to reflection.

Then Allah shifts to the other side — the Abrār, those who go far beyond the basics of Islam.

🌿 Their reward begins with a drink mixed with kāfūr
🌿 They control its flow from a blessed spring
🌿 They are honored as ‘Ibād Allāh — Allah’s special servants

And Allah highlights their deeds in the dunya:

✔ Yūfūna bi-n-nadhr — They fulfill their voluntary vows
✔ They fear a Day whose terror is widespread
✔ Their sincerity and humility drive them to obey Allah fully

These verses remind us that righteousness is not accidental — it is built through intentional choices, sincerity, and striving.

May Allah make us among the Abrār, protect us from the punishment of Hell, and allow the Qur’an to be our guide, our comfort, and our witness on the Day of Judgment.
