Neck Tube/ Gaiter Mask from a stretchy T-shirt - filter pocket & wire- hand or machine sewing

A simple way to make a facial mask for everyday use. Add a pocket inside for filter insert of your choice. It can be a piece of paper towel, coffee filter, or layered facial tissues.

It can be made from a stretchy T-shirt, either by hand sewing or machine sewing. Basic back-stitch or even running stitch will work for hand sewing. You can add the wire insert around the nose area for extra protection. And when you do not need the mask, just hang it around the neck as a scarf, or wear it as a headband.

Disclaimer: Wearing a mask does not prevent you from bacteria or viruses. Keep social distance, wash hands, and disinfect surfaces are still very important. If you want to use a filter, please do your research. From what I know, a piece of cotton fabric is still a safe and effective choice. Maybe double or triple fold the fabric to be used as a washable filter. Some AC or vacuum filters (HEPA) might have fiberglass and might not be good for our health. The paper product (paper towel, some coffee filter) can trap moisture so that might not help either.
