Atlanta mayor & law enforcement news conference on crime stats falling

Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens and law enforcement leaders will hold a news conference Monday morning to tout "major strides in crime reduction."
According to the most recent public Atlanta Police Department report on crime statistics, by mid-December there was an 8% decrease in crimes against people in the city year-over-year for 2024. That included a 7% drop in homicides (from 132 to 123) and 9% drop in aggravated assault, though rapes increased by 40% (from 55 to 77).
The news conference is happening at 10 a.m.
