Training in One Health & Livestock Farming Communities: Building Resilience and Empowering Champions for Sustainable Livestock & Public Health in Sierra Leone
Episode 2 of this transformative training series was successfully delivered to farmers across Sierra Leone, focusing on strengthening community knowledge in One Health, sustainable livestock management, and public health resilience.
Organised by Amie Bangura, CEO of Mama Afro Investment SL Limited, Sierra Leone, and partnered and sponsored by Dr Renuka Thakore, CEO of Global Sustainable Futures Network CIC, United Kingdom, the programme aims to equip farming communities with practical skills that improve animal health, household livelihoods, and environmental sustainability.
The session was expertly facilitated by Moise Nkurikiyumukiza (MPH, Vet, Vet. Med.), who provided hands-on guidance rooted in Disearse Prevention underpinning One Health principles and community-based livestock practices.
This Episode marks the beginning of a multi-episode initiative to empower local champions who will drive sustainable livestock development and public health improvement across Sierra Leone.
