"It's Not the Bike, it's the Rider" is WRONG

One of the MOST common comments on pretty much any piece of motorcycle content is invariably “it’s not the bike, it’s the rider.” This comes up when a new rider is struggling just as often as it does when an expert rider is crushing it.

The intent is always the same: A good rider can do a lot even with a “less than ideal” bike and new riders often blame their bikes when the actual issue is their own skill level.

I can get behind all of that.

It’s true on some level, but it’s not the “end all, be all” mantra that it’s made out to be.
