PM Modi wants India to host the 2036 Olympics, which would be a proud moment since we've never hosted the Games before. However, hosting the Olympics is no small feat—countries often spend billions on infrastructure and economic improvements. Sometimes, it backfires, like in Greece and Brazil, where hosting the Olympics contributed to their financial crises.
In India, apart from cricket, interest in other sports is limited. If people don't turn up to watch the events, the taxpayers' money spent on building and maintaining the stadiums could go to waste.
