JUNGLE TREK to the most HIDDEN place in China (Manwa, Xishuangbanna 曼佤村邮站)

The Chinese government does not easily allow foreigners to come close to the border with Myanmar, but we managed to go to this border village with our local friend Yen.

We started In Jinghong, Xishuangbanna. In the morning, we drove in the west to Menghai, a small town surrounded by rice fields and vegetable plantations. We first went to a very lively and noisy market, where local
people buy all kinds of stuff every day: meat, fresh vegetables, chicken, fish, fruits, and various native products ethnic people brought from the mountains. We continued driving on a mountainous road to Bada, a small town on the China-Burma border surrounded by several Aini villages, where we started hiking down the mountains. The first part consists of mainly walking along a village road with farmland on both sides. Sugar, rice, hemp, and tea, are all you can find here. Then we went across the dense forest to Manwa, a Bulang Village on a
hillside, where we stayed in the house of our friend, On the way we gathered mushrooms which we then ate as dinner at the most idyllic location.

This place is very much off the beaten path and, according to our local friend, not at all visited by Chinese tourists, let alone foreign tourists and you can definitely see that. The natural beauty of this place is completely untouched by mass tourism.
