The special meeting by the Parliamentary Select Committee (PSC) to discuss the stock-trading scandal involving Tan Sri Azam Baki on Jan 19 has been postponed, says Dewan Rakyat secretary Dr Nizam Mydin Bacha Mydin.
A new date for the meeting will be announced soon, Nizam said.
The delay was due to several legal issues that needed to be dealt with by the Parliament’s Legal Advisor’s Office.
More parties have called for Azam's temporary suspension from being the MACC chief, until the controversial stockholding issue is resolved.
Last week, the Special Committee on Corruption (SCC) was proposing investigations on Azam to check if any asset declaration was made when he purchased the stocks in two public-listed companies in 2016.
The SCC is also of the view that Azam should take a temporary leave while investigations are ongoing for his stock trading scandal, but leaves the decision to the PSC.
