Testing some speaker terminal cups I got from Amazon emulating the current from a 3500 watt amp. This definitely got spicy.

So, a bit of back story. Several years ago when I was just getting back into car audio, I picked up a Skar Audio VXF 15", and a q-bomb (XL) prefab box for my car.
About two days after installation, I ended up having to rip the box out of my trunk while it was on fire. Fire department was involved (I had no way to extinguish the flaming box sitting in the middle of a parking lot at 1:30am.
Speaker terminals caught fire. Was using a SoundQubed 3000 watt amp at the time.
True story, my car audio insurance policy covered the damages and the loss was covered in under a week. (100% worth it to carry a separate policy on any custom electronics/audio beyond entry level.)
I'm a fan of straight wire from amp to my subs after everything I've personally seen.
