I tried out my new Lisle Pipe Expander Kit, part number 17350. The tool did a good job. Using a $38 Harbor Freight impact gun, I expanded the down pipe on a Saturn SC2 in about a minute or two. It was loud and I could see that it was placing a lot of stress on the tool, but everything turned out well. The flare was perfect and the tool was in good shape after flaring a couple pipes. No stripped threads or cracks in the metal. This is a good product, considering hydraulic pipe expanders are something like $5000.
Saying that, I didn't need to buy the entire kit. All I needed for my Saturn was the small expander chuck (part number 34400). Everything else in the kit is for future use on larger vehicles.
