Train Cab Ride NL / Intercity Snow Delays / Amersfoort - Utrecht - Den Bosch / ICM & VIRM / Jan 2026

Hi everyone! Welcome aboard yet another snowy ride. This time with intercity trains! We also had a video last week, but it was delayed by a week. So this week we're returning to the normal release schedule. Get ready, and we'll get started soon!

We'll start where we left off last week. We transferred to the intercity train from Amersfoort to Utrecht. Due to disruptions, the timetable around Amersfoort is currently a mess. As a result, this train is starting here. Unfortunately, staff and passengers were waiting on platform 6 due to incorrect information on the info screens. As a result, we'll be departing with an additional 5 minutes.

6:18 Slowing down before Den Dolder
We're going to experience more delays. Due to the disruption, our train number was changed to 301750 instead of 1750. However, this wasn't processed in the systems, so the computer didn't recognize us. As a result, we weren't automatically assigned a route at Den Dolder and a red light to stop for.

The train manager also reported that the train was giving passengers conflicting information. This was also the cause. The dispatcher immediately recognized the problem and corrected our number in the system, after which the computer was able to function independently again.

After the Sprinter train to Baarn had passed, we were allowed to continue our journey to Utrecht with a delay of 9 minutes.

15:29 Arrival Utrecht Central Station – Shift Change!
We arrived at Utrecht Central Station with a delay of 8 minutes. It quickly became clear that this train was heading back towards Amersfoort and Enschede. We're transferring to our next task. The intercity to 's-Hertogenbosch.

So, we're transferring. We were supposed to ride this train as passengers. But the driver who was supposed to drive it lets us drive it ourselves. So, that driver sits in the back for a bit. We're leaving Utrecht Central Station on time. Enjoy another white world!

It's one of those days. Originally, I would have been planned on the HSL today. But the planners needed me somewhere else. Now we're getting off at the next station instead of continuing to Eindhoven.

Call the other driver, who is currently a passenger on this train. He will take over at the next stop.

Final destination of this video. After this ride, I had a break and then had to continue in the dark with the Sprinter to Dordrecht, the Intercity to Rotterdam, the Intercity to The Hague, and the Sprinter to Amsterdam.
