The Common Sandpiper is one of the early migratory visitors to Singapore, arriving from July through April.
With its brown upperparts, white belly, and distinctive bobbing tail, this small shorebird is a familiar sight along reservoirs, rivers, and coastal mudflats.
It feeds on insects, crustaceans, and tiny invertebrates at the water’s edge.
Usually solitary, it sometimes gathers in small groups during migration.
The migratory season has begun and the Common Sandpiper is here to mark the start!
