We started our day with a peaceful morning walk from Teck Lim Road to Maxwell Food Centre in Chinatown, Singapore — just a quick 5-minute stroll from Butternut Tree Hotel.
At 8AM, the streets were calm, some stalls were just opening, and we got lucky with no line at Tian Tian Hainanese Chicken Rice! We also grabbed a traditional kaya toast set with soft-boiled egg from 1950’s Coffee — perfect Singapore breakfast combo.
If you're planning a food trip to Chinatown, this video shows why visiting Maxwell Food Centre in the morning is a smart move.
