LOAN or Wiener Neustadt is outside Vienna. It lies underneath the C CTA of LOWW (Vienna International) at 3000ft, whilst sharing a border with the military helicopter base at Wiener Neustadt West (LOXN). This leads to some intense procedures for runway 09 arrivals and 27 departures. The short approach here is about as close as you can get to that airspace, and the departure from 27 is equally tight. Makes for some excitement!
