What started as an innocent prank on kids at nature camp has blossomed into a beloved annual tradition. Current and former Crow's Nest nature camp kids come back in the winter to craft different varieties of chocolate scat for gifting during the holiday season, with all proceeds going towards scholarships for more kids to go to camp.
Crow's Nest Preserve is located in Chester County, Pennsylvania. Crow’s Nest is the gateway to the Hopewell Big Woods, a 73,000-acre expanse of forest that reaches north into Berks County. Just next door, you’ll find French Creek State Park and Hopewell Furnace National Historic Site, making Crow’s Nest part of one of the largest areas of protected land in the region.
Crow’s Nest is a haven for other wild creatures, too: children! For decades, the preserve has hosted both after-school programs and a summer day camp to help combat the nature disconnect today’s kids face.
We believe that children who play in nature grow up to be adults who protect it. Learn more about our outdoor education programs here: https://natlands.org/what-we-do/conne...
