Ruud Vader's magnificent Model 39 A Ruth & Sohn concert organ made its public debut following a comprehensive restoration at Ruud's premises in the Netherlands on Sunday 8 January 2023.
The Model 39, also known as the "Double Ruth" due to incorporating two cases, was the largest mechanical organ manufactured by the highly regarded mechanical organ building firm of A Ruth & Sohn of Waldkirch, Germany. The firm only made two Model 39 instruments which were completed in 1923. Happily both of these instruments still exist; the other example can be found at Museum Speelklok in Utrecht, Netherlands.
Playing Elfenreichen (composer Joseph Hellmesberger Jr.) in an arrangement made for this organ by Kevin Meayers (UK).
