Evacuation orders are in place for several parts of Sydney as heavy rain drenches the state.
Rainfall is expected to ease on the NSW Coast from today but major flood warnings remain in place for many rivers, including the Hawkesbury and Nepean at Menangle, Camden, Wallacia, Penrith, North Richmond and Windsor.
Evacuation orders have been issued for thousands of residents across the city including parts of Camden, low lying areas of Woronora and Bonnet Bay and parts of Chipping Norton and Gronos Point.
SES has warned if water reaches 12 metres at Camden Weir, the area will be isolated and may be too dangerous to rescue those who are stranded.
Sydney has already received a year's worth of rainfall with the rain band is expected to move further into western NSW today.
