Who Should Lock Arms With Problematic Theology?

As believers, it's easy to want to join arms with people that seem to have the same goal. The question we should be asking ourselves however while doing so is, "What's the motive and means behind this?". Meaning what is the theology that drives this and what are the implications of that theology.
So when I saw that Turing Point USA Faith was hosting a pastors' conference it was odd to see Christians online thinking it was a good idea despite there being people participating that have problematic theology, questionable discernment, or are outright atheists. Along with this, we have TPUSA Faith partnering with and promoting the Let Us Worship movement headed up by Sean Feucht, previously of Bethel.
All of this should give us pause, making us ask some very important questions.
While they may have a goal that we share, which is seeing more people become believers and from that a nation that honors God in our living and laws, do we lock arms with people that are using problematic theology to reach this goal? Or are we simply using the same language and actually having a totally different goal in mind altogether.
As a disclaimer, I do think its important to say that I'm just working through some of this information and forming my opinion along the way. I think that boldness for Christ is something all believers should demonstrate, I'm just concerned that those that are leading the charge are doing so out of a desire to have a more conservative nation, not a more Christian one.
Thoughts?
