Ingredients
300g chicken breast
2 stalk scallions
1 teaspoon cooking oil
1 teaspoon minced garlic
1/2 teaspoon salt
Sauce
3 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon gochujang
2 tablespoons rice vinegar
1 tablespoon honey
3 tablespoons water
Instructions
1. Slice the green onion and finely mince the garlic. Score the chicken breast on both sides, being careful not to cut all the way through.
2. Drizzle cooking oil in the pan and wipe off any excess oil. Sear the chicken over medium heat until golden brown and fully cooked.
3. Turn off the heat when the chicken breast is cooked and transfer them to a plate.
4 Wait until the pan has cooled slightly, then add soy sauce, rice vinegar, water, honey, gochujang, minced garlic, and ground black pepper.
5. Bring the sauce to a gentle boil. Lower the heat to medium heat and then place the cooked chicken breast back into the pan and braise it in the sauce, flipping occasionally.
6. Reduce the sauce. Turn off the heat and rest the chicken for 2 minutes, and then slice it into bite-sized pieces.
7. Before serving, spoon some extra sauce over the chicken and garnish with sliced scallions.
