Alternate Fingerings Guide for Saxophone -THOROUGH!

In addition to the standard saxophone fingerings, there are many alternate fingerings we can use to enrich our sonic palate, facilitate better technique, and improve our intonation. I've put together this collection of alternate fingerings to help you enhance all of these aspects of your saxophone playing. I've provided fingering charts to help you see exactly what I'm doing on the horn.

Many of these fingerings are well known and widely used, while others are more obscure and specialized. Please experiment with them on your horn to see what sounds you get. For some fingerings, results will vary from alto to tenor to soprano; or from brand to brand, modern to vintage, mouthpiece to mouthpiece an so on...If you have questions about this topic, feel free to ask me in the comments.
