Day 1 Part 2 Ride from the Saar Mosel confluence to Wasserbillig and back to Konz.
Enjoy this Pops and Parks Rides Bike and Barge Ride. This was a 7 Day Mosel River Cruise that started in Saarburg on the Saar river. The end of the tour was in Koblenz at the confluence of the Mosel and Rhein Rivers. The Tour operator was SE-Tours (www.se-tours.de) from Bremerhaven Germany, and the Ship was the Olympia. SE-Tours have many Bike and Barge tours in Germany and the Netherlands.
We started the adventure on the 27th of September 2025. The cost is much less than a traditional river cruise, and you get to bike each day. Because it is on the river you ride on the flat Saar and Mosel bike paths, which are usually away from the auto roads. Hills are rare, usually only leading to bridges which cross the river. About half of the passengers on the trip chose e-bikes, which can make the trip easier if you do not have enough endurance. At the end of each segment, I have added a few pictures of sights along the way or in the beginning or ending town.
The itinerary was
Day 0 Saarburg Embarkation
Day 1 Saarburg - Trier
Day 2 Trier - Mehring
Day 3 Mehring - Bernkastel-Kues
Day 4 Bernkastel-Kues - Zell on the Moselle
Day 5 Zell on the Moselle - Cochem
Day 6 Cochem - Koblenz
Last day Koblenz Departure
