Tutankhamun ascended the throne in 1332 BC. at the age of 9 as one of the last kings of the 18th dynasty. His father was the heretical king Akhenaten, his mother's name is still unknown. According to recent studies, the young king has suffered from serious illnesses. The most significant achievement of his government was the rejection of his father's radical religious reforms, which destabilized the country. His death is still a mystery. Tutankhamun died after nine years on the throne, presumably from an infection caused by an open knee injury.
