Part 2 - after cleaning up the piston pretty well, moved on to the cylinder exhaust port. The previous owner used the saw for milling, and must have been running it extremely rich or using poor quality oil. It’s filled with gummy deposits that I begin removing with a carbide bit, which will be followed by a polishing stone.
There’s a bit of wear or aluminum deposit at the bottom of the exhaust port that I’ll try to remove or bevel out, as long as it doesn’t look like it’ll go below the piston skirt at BDC.
